Environment: MacBook Monterey 12.3.1, PD 16.5.1 Bridge network is working through the following steps. It worked for ~30 minutes or so, then a CPU spike, the connection is lost. Is there a way to make the bridged connection hold longer? 1. Set Network to Shared. Stop PD and restart. 2. Verify network is working with Shared Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : localdomain IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 10.211.55.3 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.211.55.1 3. Switch to Bridge - Default and verify it's working: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : lan IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.58 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 ping google.com Pinging google.com [142.251.33.46] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 142.251.33.46: bytes=32 time=24ms TTL=117 Reply from 142.251.33.46: bytes=32 time=21ms TTL=117 4. After 30 mins or so, the bridge network is lost: ping google.com Ping request could not find host google.com. Please check the name and try again.
Switching between Shared and Bridged seems to extended the lifespan of bridged. 1. Running Shared network - verified working 2. Switch to Bridged network - verified working 3. After 20 mins or so, repeat 1 and 2 twice, the bridged has been functioning over an hour. I could buy time this way till PD 17 is good enough.
Found a solution that works. Don't know why I didn't try this approach earlier. 1. Set network to bridged, Default Adapter 2. Stop Window 10 3. Start Windows 10, the bridged network works for hours.
