I d/l the trial of Parallels, and bought Windows 11, just to play Sims2. It will not run properly. It needs more than the 1 gig of memory allotted. It needs 4 gig (with the 4 gig patch applied). I get flashing pink, which means insufficient texture memory. It needs another 4 gig for that, at least. My Mac Studio M1 Max has more than enough memory to do this. But there seems to be no way to increase the resources for Windows. I only see those options with Windows running, and when I click on them it says it cannot do it while it is running. When I shut down Windows those options completely disappear.

How do I increase the resources allotted to the virtual Windows in the M series Parallels?

Been a while since I've looked, but in the VM's settings, there's a spot where you can allocate system RAM to the VM. In Windows, it will use up to 50% of that for the VM's vGPU. Beyond that, IDK anything else you can do. It sucks because it's worse for MacOS as a guest.

Based on the first picture, it'd be the "Manual" option, assuming you're given the option to choose more as it also depends on your license / host specs.

Yeah. I increased the memory to 12 gig, and no joy. Somehow, Parallels is just not providing sufficient video ram. I even specified 6 gig of video ram in the config file for the game, but it does not seem to affect the amount of video ram actually available. Nor does it alter the available screen resolution from 800x600, which is also done in the game config file. It is as if Parallels causes the game to ignore the game's config file.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect the game's config file to overwrite the VM's options.

Well, then, Parallels will simply not work for me.
