hi - i am runing win xp pro in a vm using parallels. our office printer is not compatible with mac os x, so i have to hook up the printer to the Win XP machine. however, when i try to (over a network port), the win xp add printer function at the very end always says "driver cannot be installed" or similar error message. microsoft's website implies that this is because the driver is out of date, but I know it is not (it works on every other one of the 3000 windows XP machines in our office). what could be the problem? it is defintely specific to parallels vm... also tried to reinstall win xp with no luck. am i missing some obvious configuration problem? thanks!!

I would try installing the driver with the printer connected directly to the computer. Test it to be sure it prints and then try printing over the network.
