macOS guest on Apple Silicon - host only network?

I'm trying to virtualize macOS on macOS (latest Sonoma patch) on Apple Silicon.

When I choose host only networking, the macOS guest doesn't get an IP address from DHCP.

Moreover, regardless what network type I choose, shared vs host-only, the IP addressing scheme under Parallels Desktop Preferences isn't respected. instead of a 10.x.x.0 subnet, the actual VM gets a 192.168.x.0 address

Are these known limitations on Apple Silicon or perhaps with Sonoma? If so is this documented someplace?

Sorry, thought the date was last year.

I manually set it to the Host only subnet as described in another KB article. That worked great for Windows 11 and KJali Linux VMs and they can both talk to each other after I dropped the FW on Windows. However, I can't get my Mac Guest to ping any the other guests, nor the other guests to reach the Mac. Any ideas what I need to do to get the whole network working? See attached setting and failed ping.

I am having the same issue. I hope somebody from Parallels can answer.
