I tried searching for this answer but couldn't find one. In the client, our VMs are set to single user. If there currently isn't a way to indicate a VM is currently in use, this would be great to have. Please see the attached for the icons that should somehow indicate if they are being used.
It's a valid point--you're highlighting a common usability gap in environments where VMs are restricted to single-user access. Without a built-in indicator showing that a virtual machine is currently in use, it creates confusion, risks overlapping access attempts, and reduces overall efficiency. Implementing a visual status icon or overlay (such as a red dot or "in use" badge) would be a smart UI improvement to prevent user collisions and improve workflow clarity. From a security or compliance standpoint, especially in controlled or audited environments, access to VMs might also be contingent on verification steps like an NBI Clearance, particularly when sensitive data is involved or the VMs are accessed remotely. Integrating such user clearance status with the VM usage indicator could offer a dual-layered access control feature--both practical and secure.
