There has been a very noticeable performance regression in the recent releases. I don't know if it's the "26" release or just before but I've seen both Windows 11 and Debian 13 VMs drop in performance significantly. I don't game often on Windows but it's not usable at all any more. Debian is very sluggish and was not previously. I believe two things seems to have dropped quite a bit, video and network. The network performance is very poor on my 2.5 ethernet (Mac side is very fast.) Video is sluggish and paints and lags. This was not the case in earlier releases. I have been running Debian unstable up to the Trixie release so it's not due to new packages in Debian causing performance issues. My hardware is an original M1 MacBook pro 13. I'm running macOs 15.6.1 with 16GB memory, 2TG nvme, and 8core version of the GPU. Just to say I recognize we are waiting for an M5 but M! is still supported and should not be regressed due to some requirement that is likely not even used on the VM.
