Parallels Desktop 26 in App Store

When will Parallels Desktop 26 be in the App Store? The current version 1.20.4 was last updated a month ago.

 

Almost two months after the release of Parallels Desktop 26 on August 26, the App Store version is still the old 1.20.4. The same long delay measured in months with the earlier releases. Why does it take so long to update the App Store version? I prefer the App Store installation (except for the long update every time...) because through it the software is installed in a container and files are not copied all over the place without a proper uninstaller in place that would actually clean things up.

Could the App Store version update cycle be improved to follow the actual release cycle more closely?

 

The biggest difference in the App Store version (which I do prefer getting my applications from) is that it does not allow the creation of macOS virtual machines. They usually lag in deploying the latest version of Parallels Desktop to the App Store from some reason they have never said.
