I have just begun running Parallels(Windows XP SP2) on my Mac Pro.
It has a 2x2 GHz Dual Core Intel Zeon Processor and
    NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT chipset.

    I loaded a game(Crysis) running on CryEngine 2.
When i clicked on the "Play" button in the load screen, it disappeared and nothing happened for a minute or so.
Then a error message entitled "Cryengine 2" popped up.
    It read:

    Unsupported video card!
    "Parallels Video Driver" [vendor=0x1ab8,device=0x1131]
Continuing to run might lead to unexpected results or crashes.

I clicked on either "OK" or "CANCEL" and nothing happened.

I then installed Parallels Tools, the only difference now being that it now reads:
    "Direct3D HAL" [vendor=0x10de, device=0x014f]
instead of the above "Parallels Video Driver" [vendor=......]

Any ideas what i need to do?
Do i need to download DirectX drivers and/NVIDIA drivers?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help as i have been trying to sort this out for the last week.

    Tommy

That game can't be played in a Virtual Machine because in Parallels you use their software based graphic card, not your actual card. Not to mention, why would you want to? Performance is already crappy for Crysis in native hardware, running it on virtual hardware/machine would be really bad.

    excellent. thanks for that.
finally a straight answer from someone.

i'm guessin that means i'll have to use Bootcamp?
I've downloaded the Beta version of it online(the only 1 i could find) but it wont let me use it as it says its out of date!?
[something to do with the fact that the new version has been released as an app on Leopard i believe (i'm running OSX 10.4.11)]

can the new version of bootcamp be downloaded separately or will i have to upgrade to Leopard?

Boot Camp is only allowed in Leopard now. If you had a boot camp partition before on Tiger, you can still use it even though it is expired.

Boot Camp would be the only way (so far) to run Crysis on a Mac.
