Maximum performance for games

    Perhaps this has already been considered, but why not provide an option in parallels to take over the hardware, and give the virtual machine direct access to the registers on the video and sound hardware? Doing this would allow Windows drivers from NVidia or ATi, and Realtek to talk directly to the hardware without the need for providing a compatibility layer in the form of a virtual video card and sound card.

    Of course, I know nothing of the internals of Parallels, but it seems like it should be possible to temporarily kick OS-X out of the way, so that parallels has exclusive access to the hardware. Of course all of the integration goes away at that point, but I would find that preferable to having to shut down OS-X, and boot into Windows using Boot Camp in order to play a game.

    I'm very happy if it can be done. :) It can be benefit to windows game programmers. For now, I can only compile and run game which not required shader.
