I was using version 1940 with the usual limited USB success, then upgraded to 1970 when the auto update said it was available. Everything work great, even my USB devices. Then today I start up and it reverted to 1940. I reloaded 1970, and each time I try to connect something I get the message that there is a nother version of VM running and it has control of that device (USB). What gives? How/why did it revert? How can I find the "other" VM that it thinks is running?

    Try a clear installation.

First download the 1970 installer onto your desktop. Then trash the Parallels folder in your Applications folder. Then do the installation. After the installation restart your Mac.
