I just did my initial installation of Windows in my Parallels VM using the Transporter tool. At some point, I will want to create a different VM that has only the applications that I need to use in Windows (for example, I most likely will use iWork instead of MS Office on the Mac and once I am used to it will not need Office . Also, would be nice to have a fresh install of Windows without all the clutter that has built up. When I am ready, can I create a second VM on my iMac, install Windows and apply only the needed app sw and data and then once that is ready, delete my first VM? Also, can I take a permanent snapshot of that install so if need be I can restore the snapshot and data and be good to go again? Thank you
i have 3 windows XP in my VM. how do i get rid of them? also when trying to set up windows xp pro, at the DOS-looking blue screen, choices are: setup windows xp, press ENTER. pressing enter on the keyboard does not work!!!! neither does press R. the only option that worked was F3 to quit without installing windows XP. dragged parallels to trash can, and started again. when i trial version last year on my daughter's mac pro, i didn't have any of these problems!! so instead of doing the trial again, i just went ahead and purchased. (mistake??) i'm totally frustrated working on this for more than 3 hours -- just to load the darn thing. any help would be appreciated
playing with this some more, i was able to get off (i think) the additional copies of windows - windows xp (1), windows xp (2). however, the first attempt (windows xp) still remains. the windows xp (3) -- trial copy finally loaded correctly. for some reason, trying to delete windows xp install gives a different message (than others) when i right-click and select delete.
