2X Application Server Ports

I have 2X serving apps just fine when connected at work, however when I connect remotely through Cisco VPN software, the apps will not launch.

I can ping the 2X server by IP address or by FQDN, RDP to it and even connect to the 2X Web Portal via HTTP Port 81 on the 2X server and see the list of apps, but clicking on them errors stating that the server cannot be found.

Port 80 to the 2X Server works fine too as that gives me the IIS 'Under Construction' page.

The 2X Client doesn't pick up the broadcasted server name when connected over VPN, nor can I connect to the farm by manually specifying the details.

Am I missing something? Closed ports perhaps? Which ones? I see mention of ports 20002 and 20003 in the 2X console, are these required ports to be opened? Any idea how I can test if these ports are open over my VPN if that is the case?

    Many thanks,

    Andy

2X Application server makes use of port 80.

Make sure that the VPN is not checking the content of that data that is passing over this port.

Is that something which VPN servers do?

All other Port 80 traffic goes through OK, so does that mean that the 2X client/server makes use of irregular data over that port? (ie: not http?)

    Thanks,

VPN servers tend to have such a feature..

2X client/server make use of port 80. Using post 80 does not mean that only the http protocol can be used...

    Andy,

We have the same problem the Cisco VPN Client connecting to a Cisco ASA. We disabled the content filtering option on the ASA. Still the 2X server cannot be found and all other trafic on port 80 pass trough normal.

Did you find a solution for this problem?

    Marthijs,
