Publishing Agent faults in build 409 I have build 409 installed on a 2003 R2 server publishing it's desktop AND a desktop running in production on version 5. I am connecting from a Vista client, version 6 build 409. I can connect to each published desktop ONCE and then the Publishin Agent dies with an event 1000: 'Faulting Application 2XController.exe, version 6.0.409.0, faulting modeule 2XController.exe, version 6.0.409.0, fault address 0x0000c231. This is followed by a DrWatson event with exception oxc0000005 (buffer/string overrun?). Any other folks seeing this issue?
Re: Publishing Agent faults in build 409 Hi cwerfel. I cannot understand exactly your scenario.... Can you please specify the following: How may 2XControllers do you have and what versions are they? How may 2XAgents do you have? With whom are they configured? What version are they? What is the version of the Client you are using? Does this only occur when you connect from a Vista Client? Does this occur only when you launch a published Desktop? With which Controller are you connecting when this issue comes up? Nixu
Re: Publishing Agent faults in build 409 Nixu, Thanks for the reply. I spent more time on this tonight. 1. I have two controllers: one beta (409) and the other production 5.1.315. 2. I have two agents same as above. 3. Problem is reproducible in the 6.0 beta (409) client and 5.1 client; Vista and XP. 4. Problem occurs with published desktops AND applications. 5. I am using the 6x controller when the problem comes up. 6. The 6x controller shows the agent status for the 5x term serv as 'In use by Controller on machine <my 5x controller>>. 7. IF I remove the 5x term serv from the 5x controller farm THE PROBLEM goes away. 8. The problem only occurs, that is the 6x controller service only terminates, when launching desktops and applications from the 5x agent's term serv AND where the agent on the term serv is still in use by the 5x controller. 9. The 5x controller and 5x term serv are on different boxes. 10. The 6x controller is it's own box. This may not be a huge issue if people upgrade all at once but might be in a mixed mode scenario. Hi cwerfel, Thanks for the information... I will try to reproduce your issue and will let you know. Just wanted to point out 2 items in your tests: 1) Is bad practice to add the same agent on 2 different controllers. 2) Ideally one should add 2X Agents with 2X Controllers of the same version. Nixu
