Hi, I am using 2x client under linux 17. Whenever I try to print I get the meassage: Your client does not support virtual printing. How can I fix that?
Thanks for contacting 2X Forums. Re: Installation of Printers for 2X Linux Client On the terminal server or remote computer, once the drivers are installed, they will show up in the Printer driver list on the RDS server users will be connecting to in the Printer Server Properties. Please review the procedure below to check this. 1. In the terminal server Printer Server Properties, locate your printer you want to use locally on the 2X Linux clients. The printer driver is not in the list, the 'Add...' button can be used to add the printer driver. 2. Open the properties of the printer entry in the 'Print Server Properties' list. 3. Take note of the printer driver name exactly as written in the 'Drivers' section. This printer should be added under 2X Linux Client word-for-word in the 'Driver Name' area of the printer properties. 4. Finally take note of the exact printer name locally on the 2X Linux Client machine. lpstat -a can help with this, or you can review the printer properties. Make sure the local printer name is exactly the same in the 2X Client under 'Printer name' as it is locally. Note: The 2X Linux Client has actually two printing redirection methods described as below: Linux RDP Based-Printing ------------------------------ This printing redirection method is similar to the Microsoft Easy Printing method. It as configurable from the 2X Linux Client > Options > Printing Options. Click add and add the local printer name in 'Printer name' and the terminal server printer driver name in 'Printer Driver Name'. The printer will redirect as the name "<Printer name> by session <number>" 2X Linux Printer Redirection --------------------------------- The 2X Linux Client includes another printer redirection mechanism. This is configurable under the 2X Client connection properties under 'Local Resources'. Check 'Printers'. This printer redirection mechanism will redirect the 'Default' locally installed printer only. For this reason it is important that the default printer is set correctly on the Linux workstation. To review this in the Linux printer settings. Even if there is only one printer installed locally, please ensure that printer is set as the 'Default' printer.
