I am helping my old employer (laidoff :-() with some network issues - one being that they are saying regular domain users are seeing the 2X client new version notice when starting their workstations. I was under the understanding that this notice was only displayed for administrator accounts. Anyone else cross this bridge? Any way to suppress (until they are ready to upgrade)? Windows 2003 domain, don't recall the 2X version at this point... may be somewhat older.
Hi there, just disable the update checking feature in the 2xClient under Options -> General for newer 2xClients or Options -> Advanced Settings for older 2xClients. In case you push the 2xClient settings from the 2xServer using a client policy remove the link for automatic update under options -> general. Kind regards,
They were not using (and not when I setup some years ago) a client policy for 2X client settings but I don't remember this notice being displayed in the past. Are you saying that the update notice will be displayed for all domain users (non-admin) unless turned off on each client computer?
