Hi I am new to 2x, i have installed 2x virtual desktop on a server and webportal. I have configured the webportal to be accessed remotely by the client machines by configuring the IIS port etc. Also i have published few applications using the virtual desktop. When i go onto the client machine and try to access the published app using the webportal its asking me to download the client. Is it not possible to access the published apps on the client machines without downloading the client software? Is there any way where the published app can be accessed by the client machines just by logging onto the webpage?. Our company is planning to install 2x to our few customers, any replies are highly appreciated.
The client is required for integrating into the desktop. It's a limitation of all browser based publishing. Though one could argue that an embedded client s possible the performance will be really bad most probably. Having said that the type of browser install can be minimal and non persistent using the newer features of the web portal settings. You can select the Basic with cleanup client deployment by selecting General settings --> system settings and installation type from your web portal administration. Hope this helps.
