Hi, We're evaluating 2X ApplicationServer at the moment, but I've come across an issue when using a full-screen remote desktop on the mac client (Clent Version 10.0.1159 running on Mac OS X 10.7.1 (Lion)). The problem is with the dock, it obscures the taskbar if they are both located at the bottom of the screen. Obviouly I know that you can set the dock to auto-hide or I could move either the dock or the taskbar, but is there a way of simply getting the full screen desktop to sit "on-top" of the dock so that it is completely hidden behind? I have attached a screenshot to show what I'm talking about. I think another way to eliminate this problem is if the 2x client supported Lion's new "Full-Screen" functionality as the dock doesn't appear on screens where the applicaton is running in full-screen mode. Are there any plans for this in a future release of the Mac client? Thanks Iain.
Hi there, this is a known issue and will be fixed within one of the next builds. Unfortunately we don't have a ETA yet. However, new builds are introduced within our forum (http://www.2x.com/forums/). Kind regards,
Hello, The desktop screen size is dictated by configuration on the server side in current version of Mac client. In order to avoid conflicts with Dock, please ask admin to set "Use available area" for published desktop size parameter. This will make actual desktop screen size respect Dock and its position, so the desktop window will sit "on-top" of the dock. In next version it is planned to add support for "kiosk mode" that will allow obscure / or auto-hide Dock as it is performed by MS Remote Desktop Connection application Thanks for your insight. The new Lion's "Full-Screen" functionality is valuable to give user maximum space for scrollable content of document window. Full (available) desktop window is not scrollable, but has some fixed dimensions that cannot be changed without re-setup of RDP connection. So there wont be much benefit to present Desktop window full screen since width and height will stay constant during the session. Regards,
