    Greetings,

2X MDM newbie here, we are evaluating this product as a potential solution for managing a fleet of Panasonic FZ-A1 Android tablets we have in an industrial setting. Have a question about the agent behavior which I didn't see directly answered in the manual.

We were able to get a test tablet registered and connected to the cloud server with no issues, but my question is concerning the expected behavior of the agent on the tablet. When we add an application, identify an application as blacklisted, etc., from the management portal, is the effect on the tablet expected to be immediate assuming its connected? The only thing that we see happening is that when the user on the tablet launches the MDM agent, the application identified shows up in a queue to be installed/uninstalled and no action is taken unless the user initiates it within the agent. Is that the expected behavior? We are looking for something where we can add/remove/block applications with no dependency on tablet user action.

    Any help/advice us much appreciated.

    thanks,

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

    Thank you for your feedback.

Please review the Android client limitations section here: http://www.2x.com/support/documentation ... m-clients/

Android requires user input to add and remove applications. This is an OS based restriction which we currently cannot avoid until Android based restrictions allow this.

Also, provided your devices have access to Google services, the install/ uninstall requests should be sent to the device as soon as you push the request, or every update interval the that device is set to communicate to the server(Devices > Select device > Policy and set the update interval).

Please advise should you have further comments or require additional assistance.

Thanks Sean, that answers the question. I'm assuming this would be true whether the device was rooted or not (in our case, it's not).

    thanks,

    Bill
