We had 2X installed on a Server 2003 terminal server performance was great. However, once we moved to Server 2008 R2 on a new server with better specifications, programs that ran on 2X were significantly slower compared to how they were in 2003 on the older server. Also, there is a pretty big speed difference between RDP and using 2X on the same server. Tests were run in the local network as well as through the Internet. Has anyone else noticed the same thing? Have anyone who has had this problem been able to fix it? What about Server 2008 R2 SP1? Will installing the final version once it comes out help speed up 2x since it comes with RemoteFX? Also, those who have 2008 R2 do you also have the RemoteApps part of the Remote Desktop services installed? Does having this installed make any sort of difference in terms of performance for 2x? Thanks!
from my experienec is works better especially when playing multimeadia. make sure that you set your client to direct mode for best results. if the client cannot reach the server directly them use gateway mode, this is normally useful for teleworkers
