I choose to implement the 2X Application server in the following set-up: - two TS servers, that hold the same applications; - one 2XPA server; - two 2XGW servers, for redundancy purposes; - all servers are part of a workgroup (not domain). In the client's MSI I set the two GWs addresses. With what credentials should the client authenticate? Local user on the GW? Local user on the PA? Is working in workgroup even an option, or a domain is needed TIA.
You would need to create the same username and password for every user on all machines. Also if you change a password, you must change it on all. So, you could do it, but a domain is much neater.
Been there, done that ... but ... 10nx, srb123, for bothering to answer. I already took care of same username and password on all machines. Nevertheless, couldn't even login to get the list of applications properly. After few days of hitting the head against the wall, when I saw there is no response from the forums, I just added the machines to the domain and created a user specific to this task. I'm now in the middle of testing this environment. I'll let you know.
