hi, i trial the vdi solution with vmware esxi 4.0 but the vdiconsole not start/suspend the virtual desktop. the configuration on the 2x mgm comsole i setup the vdi host like esxi 3.5 coz the 4.0 are not supported. the problem that i report is for different version or i make something wrong. tia nick

I tried 2X VDS7.1.659.0 on ESXi4.0.0 ReleaseBuild 164009 and although it is not officially supported, it worked! Are you connecting with ESXi through the appliance or you installed the VDI agent on the ESXi machine itself? When installing the ESXi appliance I noticed that the Appliance works only on ver 3.5. However you can convert the appliance to ver 4.
Hi Cedric, i use the vdi appliance (ubuntu 8.04), of course i used vmware converted to import it in the esxi 4.0. from vds console i setup the vdi host, i see the "agent ok" and fromfrom "Virtual Guest Settings" i can see all windows guest but i cannot start/stop/suspend it. Any idea ?
First check whether the user you're using on ESXi is configured with enough premissions, because this issue may be related to user permissions. If you're using the root user or a full privileged user then I sugguest to enable the log on the VDI agent and check whether you can notice any strange issues while start/stop/pause the guests. To enable the logs, make the follwoing procedure: 1) Stop the current process of the VDS Agent /opt/2X/VDSAgent/bin/2XVDSAgent.sh stop 2) Start the VDS Agent in debug mode /opt/2X/VDSAgent/bin/2XVDSAgent.sh start-debug 3) Monitor the VDS Agent log file tail -f /var/opt/2X/log/VDSAgent.log Please note that in this mode, the VDSAgent.log can get very large and do not leave it running for long periods without cleaning.
