I've been running Weblogic 9.2 in 1970 with no problems. I installed 3036 due to another problem (to see if it would fix it), and got hooked on Coherence. Talk about productivity enhancements!
Back to the poof. Now, when I run WebLogic, the VM goes poof during weblogic startup, but only when running a particular application (Adobe Flex Data Services), and only when it attempts to connect to an EJB. It all worked fine on 1970.

[that's all, folks!]
Please tell me I don't have to go back to 1970. I've been to the mountaintop!
