    Dear All,
    I work on the new MacBook Pro with Sierra, this one has two graphic boards.
    Radeon Pro 460 4096 MB and Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB
    some of my 3D Software cannot be installed as they request open GL, how can I choose the stronger Graphic board?
    I found this helpful link --> http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v4/docs/de/Parallels_Desktop_Users_Guide/22986.htm
    it explains all perfect, unfortunetly in the new Parallels under graphic the option "activate 3D-speed" is not available and also in Energy saving on the Mac under Graphic the High performance is not available neither.
    can someone help me where this can be found in the new Versions??
    Thanks very much for help in advance
    Kind Regards
    Rachel

    Hi RachelL1, switch to Options tab -> Optimization. Make sure that Performance option is set to 'Faster virtual machine', and Power option is set to 'Better performance.
    The virtual machine has virtual memory allocated from Mac RAM. Virtual video memory almost does not depend on Mac video card and Mac video memory. While operating with the virtual machine, the textures and the other Guest video data are transmitted to the Host OpenGL. OpenGL decides itself whether to collect this data in the Host RAM or in the Host video memory. Generally, 256 MB of video memory is enough. Sometimes, Parallels Desktop recommends to increase it to 512 MB
    We understand your concern here. Though the Parallels virtual machine (Windows, Linux and OS X) uses OpenGL 2.1, our Development team is working towards a possibility to support OpenGL higher version in future versions of Parallels Desktop. You could subscribe to our newsletter to get the updates. You can get " 3D acceleration" from Configuration->Graphics->Advanced Settings-> 3D acceleration-> DirectX10

    Dear PaulChris,
    Thank you very much for your reply, I went through all the settings and they are exactly as recommended above, now I also understand the problem, the programs request the OpenGL 3.0 see message attached. I will subscribe for the Newsletter for sure, but any idea when I can expect that this will be updated? It is a problem as I have only the MacBook no other computer anymore that means I cannot use this software but I need to work with it for my daily business.
    Looking forward to get some good news :)
    Kind Regards
    Rachel
