installed vista ultimate under bootcamp and it works perfect. installed parallels 4560 and created vista virtual machine and selected bootcamp as drive: when starting get error: No boot device available, press Enter to continue. tried to create new virtual machine, tried all different settings in advanced for hard disk 1 (actual IDE 0:0) but no way any help ?
I also have the same problem. I'm running Windows Vista Business 32Bit, NTFS partition installed with bootcamp on a Mac Book Pro.
Hello! Please open Applications-Utilities-Terminal and run the "diskutil list" command and copy the result. Best regards, John
Hi John, As requested the result of diskutil: Welcome to Darwin! chpemd1-emman:~ emman$ diskutil list /dev/disk0 #: type name size identifier 0: GUID_partition_scheme *93.2 GB disk0 1: EFI 200.0 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 72.0 GB disk0s2 3: Microsoft Basic Data 20.8 GB disk0s3 chpemd1-emman:~ emman$
John, I have the same problem as Mikael: I'm running Windows Vista Business 32Bit, NTFS partition installed with bootcamp on a Mac Book Pro. When running Parallels I select "Custom" OS Installation but the option "Use Boot Camp" is grayed out. Is it possible to virtualize and dual-boot the same Windows Vista, or does it only work with XP? The output from my diskutil is: Welcome to Darwin! Vigor11:~ esbenhedegaard$ diskutil list /dev/disk0 #: type name size identifier 0: GUID_partition_scheme *149.1 GB disk0 1: EFI 200.0 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 117.0 GB disk0s2 3: Microsoft Basic Data Untitled 31.7 GB disk0s3 Vigor11:~ esbenhedegaard$ Thanks, Esben
I am getting the same error trying to install Windows 95. Can you help me get this thing working? Thanks.
Hello! Please disconnect ALL external DEVICES, remove Parallels by means of the "uninstall " application, repair disk permissions using the MacOSX disk utility, restart the MAC, install Parallels, restart the MAC once again, and create a bootcamp virtual machine. Best regards, John
Hi! Perhaps the disk is not bootable. You should have bootable floppy diskettes or floppy .FDD images in order to install Win95, Best regards, John
i did: disconnect ALL external DEVICES, removed Parallels by "uninstall " application, repair disk permissions using the MacOSX disk utility (and after also cocktail), restarted the MAC, installed Parallels, restarted the MAC once again, and created a bootcamp virtual machine. still same problem. disk util: Last login: Tue Aug 21 02:19:53 on console Welcome to Darwin! nanana-computer:~ nanana$ diskutil list /dev/disk0 #: type name size identifier 0: GUID_partition_scheme *149.1 GB disk0 1: EFI 200.0 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 100.0 GB disk0s2 3: Microsoft Basic Data 48.7 GB disk0s3 nanana-computer:~ nanana$ any solutions ?

Hi John, I also have tried uninstalling. Repairing permissions, and then reinstalling. I still get the same error.
Hello! 1. Please check that You are using the latest Parallels build 2. Please make sure Windows installed in Boot camp is not a 64 bit version 3. Please try this solution http://kb.parallels.com/entry/27/472/ Best regards, John
Hello, Mikael! Please send me the required log files: ~/Library/Logs/Parallels/Bootcamp.log ~/Library/Logs/Parallels/BootcampOSP.log To find them please open Finder and browse to the "Homefolder-Library-Logs-Parallels" folder Best regards, John

seems that my windows partition ist a dynamic disk and maybe for this it is not accessable in mac os x ? cannot remember to having selected on installation of vista to use dynamic disk ? when i right click in disk management on the system disk it gives me the choice of "resize" but how can i make sure it is really a dynamic disk ? and if it is, is a dynamic disk not supported in parallels ? can i revert ? maybe by backing up the partition with acronis drive image and then back on a "non dynamic disk/partition" ?
hey espen, hey Mikael Andersen - seems there is no solution for this here ;-( did u solve this problem for u ? tnx !
