I want to install Parallels 10 and migrate my Windows 7 from my old computer to my new one. After I do that, can I wipe the old computer and sell it, or is the new virtual machine for Windows 7 still tied to the old computer?

    Hi TaqiyyahM,
When migrating your Windows PC over to your Mac using Parallels Desktop the Parallels Transporter Agent creates a full copy of your Windows PC disk. Windows installation and all your data on the source computer (your PC you want to transfer to your Mac) remains intact all the time during the migration process and after the transfer is complete. To answer your question, once the transfer is complete and successful (you should test it), the original installation and the virtual machine are totally independent, what you delete on one side does not affect the other, so it will be safe to completely wipe the original PC afterwards.

However, you will not be able to use the same Windows license on both computers (real and virtual), the old computer will need a new license.
