I have an HP Designjet 70 (A2 size) connected to my iMAC. On the Mac Boot Camp I installed Windows Vista (ouch...) as guest OS, and in both OS the printer works flawlessly. I then installed Parallels 4, with no problem at all, and shared the printer using Bonjour in Windows XP Pro. The printer was perfectly installed but, having the Parallels tools also on the computer, Bonjour automatically installs the HP Color Laserjet 4550PS driver. First of all, I noticed that it is a Postscript driver, but, anyway, a decided to give it a try. The printer worked, but only up to A4 paper size. Then I changed the driver to HP Color Laserjet 8500PS, acording to the Parallels manual. This time, the printer went up to A3 size. Let me say that Parallels made every effort to help me, to no avail. I then decided to install, also according to a Parallels support suggestion, the native HP Designjet 70 driver. Well, the printer went dead, because it didn't receive any file to print. Next action was to try several HP drivers, all of them being Postscript. Finally, the HP Designjet 750C/PS WORKED! There is, however a small problem. Even configuring the paper margins as zero, the printer does not accept this modification, and so, the printing surface is a little bit smaller that the A2 complete size. A left and right 20mm margin and a 6mm top and bottom margin is not such a terrible problem, and so I could solve my printing problem. As an architect, I installed AutoCAD 2008 under Parallels, and it works as well as in a native Windows, with no noticeable speed loss. And with my A2 printer, I am able to make my presentation drawings to my satisfaction. If this thread helps anyone that has the same or similar problem, please, be welcome.
