Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help me because I'm a little bit scared that I may have lost everything I had on my Parallel Windows Virtual Machine... I made a quick search through the forum, but couldn't find anything suited to my problem.

Alright, so I've been using Parallels on my MacBook Pro for the last year with Windows XP, because I had to run some applications that were only available for Windows. I used to be able to access these files whenever I needed them by clicking on my C:/ folder in Finder that would appear whenever Parallels was running.

Last Saturday, my cat spilled a glass water on my laptop and it stopped working. I brought it in for evaluation and was told my motherboard was fried. As of now, I'm waiting on an estimate for the repairing/change of the motherboard, but should I decide that it is too expensive and that I would rather buy a new laptop, would there be any way to recover the files I had saved on the VM C:/ drive? The technican I hired allowed me to access all my files from the laptop HDD to recover anything I would need right now and told me the HDD was working fine, but the only files I wanted to access (and transfer) were the ones from Windows, which I couldn't find at all, the C:/ drive appearing as 0 KB.

Is there any way to access those files directly from the HDD because if I decide to buy a new laptop, I would still need those files, unless they are already lost?

    Thank you!
