I am using Parallels with Boot Camp. Why is it that when I activate my software in parallels I then have to activate it again when I boot into Boot Camp? For example, I activated windows in Parallels, then when I restarted the machine to run Windows natively it told me that windows was not activated. Then of course windows didn't like me trying to activate two copies of the same serial number so I had to call them. The same thing goes with Office and every other program that requires activation. I have to activate them all twice and it's a pain. I was told Fusion doesn't do this.
Hello, the matter is bootcamp and Parallels actually use different hardware - bootcamp works with Mac's hardware while Parallels virtualizes its own. And for Microsoft soft if three or more hardware devices change it requires activation again. It should happen once in a VM and once in a bootcamp. I suppose so do other programs. Best regards, Alicia.
