...any advice? I already purchased the upgrade from ASSMB to ASENT. Currently running a single 2X Server, applications published for users across the Internet. I am not using the Universal Printing. Any gotchas to look out for when adding a second 2X Server with load balancing? Is it just a matter of adding the 2X Terminal Server agent to the second server? At least according to http://www.2x.com/solutions/ it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
hi, you simply rerun the install to change to enterprise edition ,place in the key and activate. Then at that time its working the same as it was Then add your new TS and install the TS agent (this is checked and gives you option to do remote install) One thing to be careful of, is to ensure if you have different apps/paths on the terminal servers, that you only publish the app from the correct TS and not have selected all servers in farm , or users could get errors when connecting to the wrong ts with no app
Just for Clarification... Lee, Thanks for that - I am looking for clarification for posterity - and to make sure I do not screw things up! I will probably be refering to this thread in a few months when we add another server. >hi, you simply rerun the install to change to enterprise edition ,place in the key and activate. Can I rerun the install "in place", right on top of the existing installation? (I do not want to lose all my current settings and published applications). >Then at that time its working the same as it was Which makes me think it will be "in place" > Then add your new TS and install the TS agent (this is checked and gives you option to do remote install) This is part of the reinstall, or should I do an install on the 2nd TS Server and just choose the TS Agent? >One thing to be careful of, is to ensure if you have different apps/paths on the terminal servers, that you only publish the app from the correct TS and not have selected all servers in farm , or users could get errors when connecting to the wrong ts with no app Where would I check this? Under Published Resources on the existing 2X server, the Application --> Server(s): dropdown lists "localhost"? I had planned on leaving that alone unless you recommend a change. This begs additional questions: What do I expect to see on the 2nd TS Server after the TS Agent is installed? If you have a growing network, like I am beginning to have, when do you consider publishing applications from multiple servers? Under the TS tab in 2X, currently the Server is "localhost" and there is a check for Change Direct Address. The Server name is the name of the local host. Will this remain the same? Thanks for your help in this!
