    Hi,

I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit in Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac. All the latest Windows updates, etc. have been applied. There is only one local user in Windows - no password set. Power settings in Windows are disabled, i.e. screen never turns off, PC never goes to sleep, no screen saver is selected, on resume, display logon screen setting is unchecked. Windows are running in Coherence mode.

The problem that I'm having is that after about 5-10 minutes of inactivity in Windows, the welcome/lock screen pops up at full screen. The only thing that I can do then is to click on the Sign-In button to unlock Windows (no password is required since the user doesn't have a password).

I even tried to disable Coherence but the lock screen still shows, inside the Windows 10 window.

This is very frustrating since the only way that I can use my Mac is to either pause/suspend Windows or unlock Windows every 5-10 minutes.

Any ideas how I can resolve this issue?

    Costas

    Hi Costas,

The first thing I would do is reinstall Parallels Tools
Then I would check my windows setting:
right click mouse>Power & Sleep [Screen>Never & Sleep Never] >(These settings may be for a latter addition of Parallels)>Under Related settings>Additional power settings>Parallels > change plan settings>Put computer to sleep>Never

Thanks kat for the help. I re-installed Parallels Tools but unfortunately it didn't work. Windows still locks after about 5 mins of inactivity. I checked again that the screen saver is disabled and the power settings are set to Parallels (i.e. never go to sleep/standby). Any other ideas that I can use to resolve this issue?

Unfortunately this is a windows issue. There are several thing you could try, one is to set the Power and Sleep to 5 hours and see if that changes anything or are you still getting the lock screen after 5 or 10 minuets.

If changing the time on Power and sleep had no effect.
There is another location for power settings Please make sure it is set to never.
Control Panel>All Control Panel items > Power Options > Under Parallels - Change plan Settings > change advanced power settings>Display>Turn off display after> Setting: Never

Thanks. I changed the power setting to 5 hours and so far it's working.
