I have an OS X 10.5 Leopard Server VM running with Parallels Desktop for Mac build 4.0.3846 and Snow Leopard 10.6.1 as the host operating system on a Core Duo iMac (early 2006). I have a legacy Apple LaserWriter 4/600 PS AppleTalk-only printer connected to the iMac's ethernet port with an AsanteTalk ethernet-AppleTalk adapter. When the host operating system was 10.5.x Leopard, the printer operated normally. However, AppleTalk has been removed from OS X 10.6 and I can no longer see or connect to my legacy printer in the host Snow Leopard operating system.

Could I somehow connect to my printer through the ethernet port of my host computer from the Leopard VM that does contain AppleTalk? If so, what network settings would I have to use? I tried shared, bridged and host-only settings, but none appeared to allow the VM to "see" the AppleTalk-only printer... It would seem that if the host system cannot see the printer, then neither can the VM - but perhaps I'm missing something?

    Regards
