Application Error - General Protection Fault

  1. I upgraded to version 5 of Parallels, and as a result one of my old windows program crashes. It always worked with Parallels 4 version, and the program works fine when using boot camp on another mac computer. I am using Parallels 5 for a mac to run Windows XP. The old windows program will work for a couple of minutes and will crash after 2-3 minutes, even with no activity on my part. My Mac system is Snow Leopard, version 10.6.3.

Previously I did not need to adjust the operating system to run this application for an older operating system, but even after trying that, it did not help. The author of the program went out of business, so I have no help there.

Is there any chance that I could adjust one of the Parallels settings to allow me to use this one program? I noticed the Parallels 5 appears to refresh the screen every couple of minutes when I run a pc game. Perhaps that is causing a problem with my program.

(The error notice says the program's application caused a General Protection Fault in module user.exe at 0001:67A8)
