Hi, firstly I am new to both using a Mac and Parallels for desktop, so please don't chastise me too much I already have Steam (Valves game distribution platform) installed on my Mac, but some games require windows to run. I have done quite a bit of reading, and settled on Parallels and a windows install to counter this, however I am slightly confused. Everything seemed simple, until I installed the system, and was given a choice of running my parallels windows machine in windows or mac mode, mac mode seems my preferred route, but I am worried about how programs are installed. Does the type of install you use, change how the files and profiles are stored for an application, particularly one like steam which is a distribution system? If I install steam on my Windows virtual desktop, with the install (of the app and its games) interfere with the version installed on my Mac? If so, is there a certain configuration that WILL keep them away from each other so to speak. Obviously I don't want to scramble my already installed mac version up, but do want access to my windows games, after all, thats why I have bought this! I would be grateful of anyone who has already installed either Steam or any other app on both platform to give me a little advice. Many thanks in advance.
