I had to install a clean Windows 7 VM. Before I did that, though, I had copied all the files from my old mac to my new one, including the Applications (Parallels) folder containing all my Windows 7 applications. I had hoped they would automatically be used when the new clean VM was set up and started, but they're not. I attempted to transfer some of the Windows applications to my new Windows Program Files folder, but found they're all .app files instead of .exe. What should I do?
Hi Taqiyyah, If you would like to transfer an existing Windows 7 virtual machine from one Mac to another, please follow the steps suggested at, http://kb.parallels.com/114118 You will have to transfer the Windows7.vpm file to an external hard drive and move it to the new Mac. And that will transfer all the files and software that you have saved and installed in the virtual machine. You do not have to transfer the software separately.
