I have linux box that i want to use to connect with my 2x client but it seams to be impossible. I have a XP box in the same network that is able to connect so it is not an network issue but the problem seams to be in the ubunto box. I get reject message instantly when i try to connect to 2X sever. The message is "An error occured when connecting to the 2X ApplicationServer". I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop version and 2X client Version 7.0 build 1. Can anyone help me please.
WHEN will it work on ubuntu 9.04? Ubuntu is the most popular distro and it been some time since the release of 9.04 now. Or is the policy to support the LTS-versions only?
You can get it to work. The xlibc library has been succeeded by something else; making a symbolic link from the missing file to the new file will fix the problem. Sorry for not being more specific; I'll post instructions soon.
I confirm that version 7.1 works with Ubuntu (not printing) I did not try the .rpm via Alien, but when straight for the .tar.bz2. 1) 2X Client v7.1.657 (TAR.bz2) 2) I used the instructions in the manual, chapter " Installing 2X Client for Linux" 3) I also used help from this site The main points beeing: sudo chmod 755 install.sh sudo ./install.sh
