Hi there. My set-up is as follows: - one Server2003R2 SP2 server acting as the Publishing Application server and 2XGateway, installed with v5.1; - two Server2003R2 SP2 servers acting as 2X Terminal Servers with some 50 applications installed; - the users get the app window only, no desktops; - I do use the 2X Unified printers. I am planning to upgrade the 2X AppServer to version 11 and upgrade the Publishing Server's OS (is a VM, so no hardware problem here). The TS servers will remain untouched, I have apps that will not cope with upgrade even to 2008 ... I would be glad to know: - anyone has done the same upgrade (dinosaurs to 21st century) and has things I should know? - any specific thoughts to consider? Thank you in advance for your inputs.
Thanks for contacting 2X Forums. At present 2X are not aware of any issues with upgrades from previously version of 2X ApplicationServer, however, version 5 falls outside the scope of testing. You can try the upgrade and it may work as we would expect with later versions, and if you have any issues please contact back and report them.
just completed the change from v4 to v11. upgrades to v11 is smooth and easy. But facing lot of problems especially on the new licensing structure. do not really know when 2x license is issues. causing shortage of licenses even when active sessions is way below the total licenses i have. seem like those users who do not launched published app are also assigned with license and this cause my active users cannot login. and the default 65mins to release license is really too long and cannot be configure.
