I need to know if Syncing is an acceptable method of backing up the PVM.

On a Mac running 10.8.3 - Parallels Desktop 8 running Windows 7 Pro, trials have been run on 2 Synchronisation Applications and both have problems with the PVM.

All the Syncs involve the PVM, and invariably the PVM is the source of the great majority of Data requiring BackUP, but strangely one Sync has never had any problem completing the task and has never created any problems.

There are 2 Syncs that suffer problems, progress on these reaches 99% and then hangs.
The problem comes to notice because it becomes evident that a Sync taking 5 to 10 minutes is still active up to 1.5 hours after it commenced.
It seems that the first action, like attempting to perform a screen capture, will cause everything to grind to a halt.
Finder cannot be relaunched, screen captures do not produce results etc, leading to the need to reach for the Power Button.

Are there any known problems connected with the PVM and Syncs?

Any suggestions at to testing and so on?

I was unable to report this to Parallels because there is no fault with that Application, seemingly only the PVM involvement.
WIKI if the PVM is removed from the equation there are nil problems.

    TIA for any useful input.

    Regards, G.
