ok.. so as much as it has sucked having parallels take a crap on me twice in 1 month..i love the idea of a seamless xp/osx machine.. my problem is that after uninstalling / reinstalling a whole new xp setup on my macbookpro i want to make sure i backup everything on an external drive.. so at first i tried to basically copy my 2 folder ( applications/parallels & documents/Parallels) to an 400gb external fat32 drive... it copies everything BUT the vm .hdd file ( 7 gigs ) it takes a crap on me error -1309 around 3.8 gb.... so i looked around an people were saying that it could be a fat32 problem etc...ok .. so i tried to use my ipod as a drive and save it there....im assuming its hfs ??? AGAIN ..it took a crap on me the same place ....i dont want to burn a dvd i want to use an external drive... ive checked permissions to make sure im allowd to do what i need to... WHATS AM I DOING WRONG???? What can i do to fix it Grassy Ass
The max filesize of fat32 is 4gb. Format your external drive with something else. Ipods can be formatted with both fat32 and hfs+. Chack what it is formatted with (in disk utility) before you copy. Most of them are formatted with fat32 by default. Also, a normal single layer DVD only holds 4.5gb.
