    Hey,

yesterday I tried to play League of Legends with friends but the cursor was incredible small and hard to see ingame.
I am playing on a MacBook Pro with Retina display and Parallels Desktop 8 is scaling the cursor really small when Retina resolution is activated in the hardware > graphics configuration.

A screencast about the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOLrEsyQFgc

Parallels Desktop should scale the cursor depending on the set resolution in windows and not only the DPI + retina config.

If you're running your VM at 1440x900 you could just disable retina support by setting Configuration > Hardware > Video > Resolution to Scaled.

I know and I did it to solve this problem. Still I believe, that at least on Retina displays the scaling of the cursor shouldn't be solely dependent on the retina support (activated/deactivated) and the DPI settings (100%/125%150% etc.).

For me it is not logical that it is assumed that I may only choose only 1440x900 or 2880x1800 and the associated DPI options.
People may choose other resolutions in between and don't want to turn off retina support for playing a game properly / having a reasonable scaled cursor for the retina display.

I've passed this on to appropriate people. But still, the assumption that LCD display is better run in native resolution holds, because scaling doesn't help image quality.

For me games and OS in 1680x1050 do look better then 1440x900.

Without better scaling on the retina there is consistence missing. The cursor is not needed bigger than in the half-native resolution of 1440x900 but is hard to manoeuvre in native 2880x1800 resolution.

If you prefer 1680x1050 then you can set that in OS X Display preferences and keep Parallels resolution as Scaled. This way OS X takes responsibility of scaling to 2880x1800 panel resolution and cursor size will be just right.
