    Hi all,

I've got Parallels Desktop 4.0 running on my new macbook (2.4ghz 4gbram). I've set up a bootcamp partition and installed ms sql server 2005 express in it. I then have apache running in the OSX environment and am using freetds driver to communicate with the database.

My problem is: After browsing my local project and having it make some db read/writes, the parallels session starts to lag a ton. Eventually the whole system starts to lag. Initially I allocated 1gb of ram and 1 processor to the XP session, but I've since bumped that up to 1.25 and 2 processors.

I used to run this same setup on a much crappier computer and it was totally fine.. Does anyone have any configuration tips on this one? Is there anything else I should or should not be allocating? I guess there could be some ways to control ms sql server 2005 from eating all my resources as well?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    Resolved?

Jeff, did you ever get this resolved? I am new to Mac and just setup Parallels and after an hour or so, everything begins to start really dragging almost to a halt. I was curious if you found a solution for your problem.
