I had this happen due to running in Coherence mode, that Win2K Professional would vomit all over itself after running coherence mode, and putting it into suspend state. Couldn't figure it out for the LIFE of me. SO I did some fooling around:

When selecting F8 to get the safe boot options:

    Select Enable VGA Mode.

    Boot.

Change your video resolution in the Control Panel > Displays to something like 800 x 600.

    Click Apply.

    Reboot.

Should boot up just fine and dandy now.

I'm guessing there is an issue in the Parallels Video driver that doesn't properly handle Coherence mode for suspend unless UNLESS you do the following:

    Before running coherence mode:

Run Windows 2000 in FULL SCREEN MODE. Click the keys you have selected to give you the Apple Menu.

    NOW select Coherence Mode.

Shut Down. After all is working fine.

Remember to go into the VM preferences and select the boot Coherence Mode.

This fix does NOT apply to say, working with 2 monitors of differing resolutions.

This fix HAS been tested on a MacBook Core Duo, MacBook Pro Core 2, iMac Core Duo.

My thinking is that an inflexibility in the Parallels video driver upon boot up is what is making the BSOD occur. Hopefully this will be fixed in a near future build and PTools update.
