Boot Camp/Parallels 3.0 up to 4.0

Macbookpro 1.5.6
Old set up: PD3.0 VM + partition bootcamp. XP Pro SP3 activated –*All worked beautifully
Upgraded to: PD4.0
Convert + Back up of PD3.0 VM – didn't work, couldn't fire up XP
Then reloaded new VM XP Pro SP3 disk in PD4.0
Saved all Boot Camp folders and files to memory stick
Deleted Bootcamp partition for more space thinking I could get all of the original settings onto my new PD4 VM XP
But cannot get back original settings, accounts, folders, apps etc
I tried files and settings wizard - no good
How can complete original set up under PD3 be moved (not using convert and backup) to new PD4 VM?
