    Hi,

I upgraded to Snow Leopard last night and discovered that bridged networking no longer works. Prior to last night I was using Parallels 5 with Leopard and a Kubuntu (9.04) VM and everything worked fine. Shared networking still works but I need the bridged networking for my job.

In desperation I created a brand new Kubuntu VM but that fails as well.

    thanks

    Rick

In my attempts to fix this problem I uninstalled parallels 5.0 and reinstalled 4.0. Bridged networking still failed. I then uninstalled 4.0 and installed 5.0. Still no luck. Short of downgrading to Leopard my only option is to find a different emulator.

(feel like I'm talking to myself here...)

I narrowed the problem down a bit. Bridged networking only fails when I'm going through my hardware VPN. If I disable that network interface on my Mac and enable the non-VPN connection everything works ok. Sadly I need the VPN connection for work. This also fails with VirtualBox so it isn't a Parallels issue but a Snow Leopard issue. I noticed a Parallel's reply on another thread that Parallels and bridged networking over a hardware VPN won't work on Snow Leopard. Is this still the case?

After power cycling the VPN box and rebooting Snow Leopard a couple times things seem to have worked themselves out (although it may have been the fairy dust I sprinkled on it...).
