I have Parallels 3 on my mac with windows xp sp3 as the guest os and joined to a domain. I am not using shared networking and am using the emulated nic card with its own address from our company DHCP server. I am having issues browsing the network. When I go to the Microsoft Windows Network I am not able to see our domain or workgroups. I can map drives just fine and if I type the address of a server or workstation I can get to it as well. Just network browsing is not working.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Paul

Pelase make sure that antivirus is not blocking network browsing, and workstation service is working in Windows VM

The AntiVirus software is not blocking browsing. Can you elaborate on "workstation service is working in Windows VM". I don't understand what you mean by this.

    Thanks for your help.

The workstation service is running. I can get to other servers by typing the address in the address bar and I can also map drives. For some reason I cannot browse the network within Parallels. I can browse the network from other pc's, however.

The node type was unknown. In the registry I tried both hybrid and broadcast and I am still getting the same result.

Just want to clarify, can you access another severs by NETBIOS name or by IP?

I can access other servers by ip address, DNS name and netbios name. I just can't browse them within the network neighborhood.

Check domain GPO, or OU GPO on Hide Network Neighborhood policy
