How do I teach a freshly installed Parallels desktop build 3188 to access an existing bootcamp Windows-XP-SP2 installation ?

Sorry if that has been covered before and I did not find it. In this case a link would be helpful.

I have seen the thread "Moving Parallels image to bootcamp" on a similar though not identical question, and a 48-step procedure from bps1. However, I guess I do not want to go thru all that. It must be easier.

I know I could install a default VM, waste 8GB, put a second XP on it and exchange files between the VM and Bootcamp install. Again, this seems to be too lefthanded.

Any relatively easy solution available ?

    Hi,

Set up a virtual machine as you would normally. When selecting your hard drive, choose Boot Camp rather than an image file.

    Hope that helps!

    This.was.too.easy. for me.

I did not have that option in the build 1940 I have purchased and I somehow managed to consult the wrong (old) Parallels Guide.
    Shame on me.

    The Undignified.
