I've just upgraded to 5160 from the last beta, and I must commend the Team for doing a fantastic job with this product. It's one of the best investments I've made...

However, after I started looking into the nitty-gritty of things, I realised that the many work folders that I had on the Windows desktop - which included software - are no longer where they were.

Right now, the Windows desktop reflects the contents that are on the Mac OS X desktop - plus the previous Windows shortcuts that were previously existent. As for the folders and other app files, they have disappeared - and I do not know where they are now!

Can anyone shed some light on this? I had some very important work files on the desktop, and I must get them back.

    Any help would be appreciated.

To get to what was previously on your desktop, simply go to the folder "Desktop" in your user folder (for example, if you are using the account "Administrator", go to "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop"). Turning off shared profile should also restore your desktop files to the desktop.

Thanks for the swift response, brkirch... will try that right away!

Maybe it's me - but I feel that such a process shouldn't be so "transparent". I got a shock when all my files had just disappeared after the upgrade...

Or, at least, put all the files in a folder on the desktop - just something to let us know that they are still around and easily accessible.
