I got excited when the new build showed up. Uninstalled, rebooted, then installed the new version. Loaded right up for the first three uses, then, the fourth time I went to use my virtual machine, the same old minutes long hang before the parallels window even opened.

Checking processes with top yeilded the expected results, pasted here:

PID COMMAND %CPU TIME #TH #PRTS #MREGS RPRVT RSHRD RSIZE VSIZE
    79 WindowServ 96.5% 39:45.93 5 390 1033 6128K+ 163M+ 171M+ 449M+
    213 Terminal 6.6% 0:03.70 3 101 399 3908K- 16M+ 12M 241M
    50599 top 6.3% 0:01.39 1 18 29 532K 200K 1124K 18M

As you can see, WindowServ is at nearly %100 of one processor core. The same problem introduced with build 5584 that never got fixed. I have to leave parallels running all of the time, or expect to wait for 5 minutes or longer when I try to launch it. Each succesive launch results in a longer hang time, until it reaches a point where you just have to reboot the whole machine if you want to run parallels...

At work this is a BIG problem with several executive machines.

    Kevin.
