I have a file on my desktop backupwinxp.hdd and it's eating 7.75GB of memory. I would like to delete this file, can anyone can tell me if this is likely to cause any problems? I regularly back up my entire mac to an external drive so I'm not sure I need this particular file, and to be honest I have no idea what it is a backup of! Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks
Hello Fidosg, Make sure that this .hdd file is not used as a virtual hard drive by your VM (look up in Configuration Editor, Hard Disk section). You can also attach this .hdd file as a second hard disk (use Add button in Configuration Editor), launch Windows and check what's in. If you do not need the data from this file, remove the second hard disk from the VM configuration and delete the file. Best regards, Xenos
Thanks - that did it. It was indeed a backup of my winxp.hdd. No idea how it was created in the first place though.
