I'm purchasing Win XP (probably Home) to use with Parallels. I'm finding at least 3 different versions: Upgrade, Full or OEM for system builders. I'm almost sure the upgrade version won't install unless it sees a previous version of Windows on the computer (which it won't in this case). But, I'm not sure what the requirements are for OEM for system builders. Does anyone here know if this version will install in Parallels?

OEM is a full install. OEM typically means it's not legal for a Retail sale and cannot be sold separately from the system it is sold with. OEM is a full install and should work fine. If you have the disk, the OEM system is yours and it is no longer installed on another system then you should be fine. Depending on the number of activations you have done (no more than 3) already it should activate. If not then you'll need to call Microsoft and explain to them why you are installing this version.

Hope this helps and works for you.
