I have two Windows VMs, the second of which has the first VM's hard disk mounted as an additional drive. This worked until Friday, when I made the mistake of trying to consolidate the two. Now, 1) the first VM boots straight into Automatic Repair. There isn't a lot of diagnostic info I can see here. 2) the second VM (which has the first VM's disk mounted) boots into Windows, and the additional disk shows up, but I just get "is not accessible. Access is denied." from File Explorer. I've also seen a "has wrong access permissions or is used with another virtual machine" dialog from Parallels itself. However, the first VM is properly powered down, so it shouldn't be used by it? I've tried running `sudo chmod -R -N` on both VMs, as suggested here; that didn't seem to have any effect. What can I do to get (read-only, at least) access to the first hard disk? Can I mount it in any form?
I've gotten Parallels Mounter to show three disks from the first VM's .hdd file. They were encrypted; I was able to run manage-bde from Windows Recovery. Now, I can see the data from Finder. And yet -- when I take that same file and add it to a hard disk, Explorer just says "E:\ is not accessible. Access is denied." In Disk Management, the disk seems... fine?
